MaintSmart Uses Reliability Analysis to Generate Effective PM Task Lists....and it's so easy to use! The above grid demonstrates how MaintSmart uses reliability analysis to suggest PM task intervals. Column 2, Cause, is one or more failure causes that occurred on this equipment item. Column 3, Assigned Task, lists tasks that have been assigned to this equipment's PM task list. Column 4, MTBF, is the calculated Mean(average) Time Between Failures based on actual equipment run time and recorded failures. Column 5, Interval, lists the PM task interval on the current PM task list for this equipment. Looking at the third row you can see that MTBF is 76.7 days. The interval for this task 00574 Check Wear Strips is 90 days. By setting the interval to less than 76.7 days you may be able to prevent this failure cause from reoccurring. (This cause/task(s) relationship appears in the grid because you have previously mapped (associated) this failure cause, 00098 Jammed Other, with it's preventive tasks.) To change this task interval simply right mouse click the grid row containing this record and select the menu item Change PM Interval. Enter the new PM interval and MaintSmart auomatically updates the PM task list for this equipment item. Continue to monitor this equipment and adjust the interval and or tasks appropriately using your expert judgement and MaintSmart's guidance. Notice the other menu items. Additional functionality is accessible from this screen for your convienience. This is a truly effective way of building and maintaining PM tasks lists. No more guesswork. This may also be uses to eliminate unneeded tasks or lengthen task intervals thus freeing up maintenance personnel for other duties. MaintSmart performs reliability analysis on specific failure causes for the purpose of building the optimum PM list. No other CMMS does this. |
