Considers Lost Manufacturing Labor Due to Breakdown (optional)

MaintSmart CMMS considers lost manufacturing (or other opportunity cost) labor hours associated with equipment failure. For example suppose an equipment failure causes a production line to be idled for 10 minutes. The original schedule contained enough time to produce product necessary to fill that day's orders. Now that 10 minutes were lost from the manufacturing schedule due to equipment failure this schedule must be lengthened by 10 minutes (or more or less). MaintSmart CMMS takes this into consideration as this IS a measurable expense associated with the equipment. By telling MaintSmart how many employees are employed in the department containing the equipment item and their wage rate MaintSmart CMMS easily calculates this important expense and permanently associates it with the failure instance. Wage rates for manufacturing need only be entered once during the configuration phase.

How many other CMMS' consider this important cost associated with equipment failure? How else could this function be used? Perhaps in a fleet maintenance situation the opportunity cost associated with a vehicle being idled can be quantified using this powerful MaintSmart feature. As with many features in maintSmart; if you don't need this feature MaintSmart does not require that you use it.

The text in the box at the lower left is automatically created by MaintSmart and becomes the title of an Excel chart should you decide to use this feature. Notice the list box labeled Column Heading. You may select the columns that you wish to chart and ignore the rest if you'd like. Excel is not required to use MaintSmart but does add some useful functionality.
